Finding Product IDs in Your E-Commerce Platform

  • Updated

If you want to import existing reviews or import orders so you can send review request emails, you need to provide product IDs (a system-generated product identifier) for the products reviewed or products you would like to request for review.

Make sure you use the product ID, not the variant ID or SKU. Using the wrong identifier is the most common reason imported reviews don't attach to the correct product

Follow this guide to find product IDs on your e-commerce platform!

Shopify

Product ID

The product_id can be found when editing products in Shopify. Product ID is the number that comes after "/products/" in the URL.

Note: Make sure it's not the variant ID, which is the number that comes after "/variants/" in the URL.

Product Handle

In some cases, you can use product handles to import your existing reviews into Stamped. The product_handle is the tail end of your product's URL without the Variant ID.

Example: https://stamped-demo.com/products/gathered-midi-dress

BigCommerce

Note: Product ID is not the same as SKU.

For a single product: In your BigCommerce admin, go to Products, then click the product name. The product ID appears in the URL after /products/edit/. For example, in .../manage/products/edit/115, the product ID is 115.

For multiple products: Go to Products > Export, choose the Bulk Edit template, and export to CSV. The Product ID column lists all your product IDs.

Magento

The product ID is Magento's product ID, not the SKU.
