StampedIQ: Insights Analysis

  • Updated

This guide describes our StampedIQ: Insights Analysis feature.

This feature provides AI analysis of reviews for purposes of both aggregated topics (via keyword) and sentiment analysis.

In This Guide

Enabling Insights Analysis

  1. Go to Settings > StampedIQ.
  2. Enable StampedIQ: Sentiment & Topics Analysis. This is what analyzes your review text and produces the topics and sentiment scores that Insights Analysis reports on.
  3. Click Save, then open Analytics > Insights Analysis.

If the page is empty shortly after enabling, allow time for your existing reviews to be analyzed. Reviews written in an unsupported language are not analyzed and will not contribute topics or sentiment.

Overview of Insights Analysis

The Insights Analysis tab shows the most frequently mentioned topics across your reviews, each with its own sentiment score.

Hover over any topic to reveal three buttons:

  • Eye icon: hide the topic from your results. Hidden topics move to the Hidden tab, where they can be restored.
  • Heart icon: tag the topic as a favourite. Favourites are collected under the Favourites tab for quick access to the topics you track regularly.
  • View products: open the detailed breakdown for that topic, covered in Detailed breakdown of individual topics.

How the sentiment score works

Sentiment is scored on a scale of -100 to 100. Scores above 0 are positive, scores below 0 are negative, and scores near 0 are neutral or mixed.

Sentiment is based on the review text, not the star rating. This is the most common source of confusion. A 5-star review can still score low if the wording contains complaints or mixed feedback, like praising a product while mentioning a delivery issue. Insights also flags reviews where the written content doesn’t align with the rating, so you can look at them more closely.  A “good” review with a lower sentiment score is actually expected behaviour, not a fault.

Getting insights for a single product

The main Insights Analysis report is store-wide and cannot be filtered to one product, and the export it produces always covers all products.

To see how a single product is performing on a given theme, open the desired topic using View, under products. It lists each product where that topic appears along with its own sentiment score, which is the closest equivalent to a product-level view.

What Insights Analysis does not include

  • A per-product or filtered report or export.
  • An average sentiment score across all customers. There is no analytics tile for this today. If you need the underlying figures, contact support and we can provide a CSV export of customer data that includes sentiment scores.
  • A shopper-facing AI review summary. Insights Analysis is an internal analytics tool. Stamped does not currently display an AI-generated summary of reviews to shoppers on product pages.
  • Raw review text export. To analyze review content yourself, export your reviews from the Reviews section of the dashboard. Exports of more than 50 reviews are emailed to your registered account email rather than downloaded directly.

Where else sentiment scores are used

The same sentiment scores power the Single Highlight display widget, which selects the review it features, and the sentence it pulls from that review, based on sentiment score. If a product has no published review that meets the threshold, the widget can appear blank on that product's page. Removing the data-product-ids attribute lets the widget fall back to a high-sentiment review from anywhere in your store, at the cost of the review not always matching the product being viewed.
