StampedIQ: Smart Assists

  • Updated

StampedIQ Smart Assists helps your customers write longer, more useful reviews. As a customer types, it suggests the topics other shoppers most want to hear about for that specific product, and shows a progress bar that fills as the review improves.

At a glance

Where it appears: the web-based review form (the form customers open from a review request email or a review link)
Not supported on: the main review widget on your storefront
Language: English only

How Smart Assists works

Longer, more specific reviews build shopper confidence and convert better than one-line reviews. Smart Assists nudges customers toward them without you having to write custom prompts.

When enabled, the review form shows a list of topics that other customers most frequently mention for that specific product. For example:

  • For a Shirt, the top topics might be FitDesign and Quality
  • For a Skin Care product, they might be SkinService and Delivery

Topics are generated per product and per store by our Predictive AI machine learning algorithms, using your own review data. Products with very few analyzed reviews may show broader topics until more reviews come in.

How the progress bar is calculated

As the customer types, each topic turns green once it is covered in the review, and a progress bar above the text field fills to indicate the quality of the review. The bar is based on two things: the length of the review and the number of suggested topics covered.

To reach a full green bar, a review must meet both of the following:

  • A minimum of 200 characters in length
  • All 3 suggested topics mentioned

Note: these thresholds are set by the feature and cannot be customized per store. The bar is guidance for the customer only; it does not block a shorter review from being submitted.

Where Smart Assists appears

This is the most common point of confusion, so to be explicit:

  • Supported: the web-based review form, which is the form a customer lands on from a review request email, a review link, or a "Write a review" call to action that opens the hosted form.
  • Not supported: the main review widget embedded on your product pages. Enabling Smart Assists will not change the in-widget review form.

If you enabled Smart Assists and cannot see it on your storefront widget, this is expected behaviour rather than a fault. Send yourself a review request and open the form from the email to see it.

Enabling Smart Assists

Enabling Smart Assists is easy. Simply follow the steps below to enable the Smart Assists feature for your store.

  1. Go to Settings > StampedIQ
  2. Enable both of the features below:
    • StampedIQ: Sentiment & Topics Analysis
    • Smart Assists
  3. Click on the "Save" button to save your settings.

Troubleshooting

  • I enabled it, but I do not see it on my site. Smart Assists only applies to the web-based review form, not the main widget. See Where Smart Assists appears.
  • No topics are suggested. Confirm StampedIQ: Sentiment & Topics Analysis is also enabled, and check that the product has enough analyzed reviews to draw topics from. Topics are generated per product.
  • The prompts are in English on my translated store. Smart Assists is currently available in English only. Widget and email language settings do not translate it.
