Benefits of a VIP Program
A VIP program is a component of your loyalty program where brands offer benefits—discounts or access to exclusive goods, content, and other rewards—to a specific group of customers. The VIP program is for your top-tier customers and incentives further engagement.
VIP tiers drive increased revenue tier to tier and encourage longer-term brand loyalty. Loyalty programs with tiers are reported to result in a 1.8x higher ROI and a 2.1x higher average spend compared to loyalty programs without.

Basic Setup: Loyalty 2.0

- Let’s get started with some basic setup. Go to VIP and scroll down to the VIP Settings section:
- Set your Program Start Date and Downgrade Settings
- Remember to save your settings by pressing the Save button
- Scroll back to the top of the VIP page
- Ensure the VIP Program is Enabled; you can also choose to enable email notifications for the program here
- Let’s get started with some basic setup. Go to VIP and scroll down to the VIP Settings section:
Introduction to VIP Section
Here you can set your VIP rewards and view the members in each tier.
It's important to ensure that the highest tier is at the top, and the lowest is at the bottom to avoid issues with tier calculation. The position of the tiers can be adjusted with the arrow buttons pictured below.
Adding A New Tier

- Click on the Create New Tier button at the top-right of the VIP Tiers section
- Give your tier a name and configure your display options
- Set the tier term to either a Lifetime (customer will be able to stay at tier upon gaining access with no expiry or end date) or a set number of days
- Click on the Create tier button; you will be redirected to the main VIP Tiers page
- To define how customers enter and stay in this tier, click on Create Entry Rule
- This is where you will add the entry requirements, or rules, for customers to enter this tier. Specify the qualification type (purchases, points balance, amount spent), the amount to qualify, and the qualification period. Multiple rules can be added if needed
- Don't forget to save these changes by clicking Create Rule in the bottom-right when you're done!
- Next, you'll want to create Tier Entry Rewards, which are one-time rewards that customers receive upon entering this tier. Click on Create Entry Reward to get started:
There are 5 types of rewards available to select from.

- Click on the reward of your choosing and complete the necessary details
- Ensure that the reward is enabled
- Click on the Create Reward button to save your settings
9. Next, you can set up Tier Perks, which are benefits for the customer to enjoy when they are in this tier. Click on Create Perk to get started:
10. Click on the perk of your choosing and follow any prompts; you will be redirected to either the Earning Points or Referrals sections to complete your perk setup. The tier for which this perk is for will be indicated at the top of the page:

VIP Tag Syncing (Shopify Only)
When a customer enters a VIP tier in your program, the VIP tier will automatically be synced as a customer tag in the customer's profile in Shopify with the format of 'StampedVIPTier: ##tierName##'.
Updating Or Deleting Existing Rewards
To update an existing tier:
- Click Edit Tier beside the tier you'd like to update
- Make any necessary changes
- Remember to click on the Save button to update your settings!
- To update Entry Rules, Entry Rewards or Tier Perks, click on the 3 dots beside the entry you'd like to change and follow the same steps as above
To delete an existing tier:
- Click Edit Tier beside the tier you'd like to remove
- Scroll down to the bottom and click on the Delete button
- To delete any existing entries in the Entry Rule, Entry Rewards or Tier Perks sections, click the 3 dots beside the respective entry and click Delete
Viewing All Members In A Tier
- Click on the View All Customers button on the respective tier
- You will be redirected to the Customers page which will show all customers in the tier
Tier Terms and Tier Term Qualification
- Tier term: indicates how many days we'll wait before we check that the customer qualifies for their existing tier — the tier term starts immediately after the qualification period. The minimum # of days that the tier term can be set to is 30 days
- Tier qualification: This indicates how many days a customer has to earn enough points to stay in their respective tier

Downgrade settings: If a customer does not meet the requirements to stay in their respective tier, they are reassigned to either the next tier down or to the next eligible tier
- To next eligible tier: the customer is checked against all tier entry rules to see which tier they qualify for. This means they could be placed in the next lower tier or any lower tier
- By single tier: the customer is automatically moved to the next lower priority tier without further checks
- Points expiry: Choose when to reset a customer's points balance to zero after a certain period of account inactivity
VIP Info in the Rewards Launcher
When you enable the VIP Program and create tiers for your customers to be a part of, this info is displayed in your Rewards Launcher:
Adjust/update the VIP tier via the Customers interface
Store owners and staff with appropriate permissions can adjust the tier of affiliates/customers from the customer profile itself.
- Go to Customers from the left navigation menu
- Search for the customer that you want to adjust the VIP Tier for and open the profile by clicking
on the customer's name:
- On the profile, look for the VIP Tier block and click Edit
- Click on the Tiers dropdown under Tier Adjustments and select the tier that you want to adjust to
- Click Adjust to publish the changes
The VIP Tier for the customer has been updated and they can start enjoying the perks of the new tier!
Subscribing/Unsubscribing Members
- To unsubscribe, click on the unsubscribe icon on the right
- To subscribe, click on the subscribe icon on the right
Basic Setup: Loyalty Classic
- Let’s get you started with some basic setup. Go to Settings -> VIP and you will see this page for VIP settings:
- On the Milestone Type dropdown box, there are 2 different types that you can choose from:
Points Customer need to gain the points to be placed in the respective tier 1000 points to be placed in the Silver tier, 2000 points to be placed in the Gold tier. Amount Spent Customer need to spend the amount to be placed in the respective tier $1000 spent to be placed in the Silver tier, $2000 spent to be placed in the Gold tier. *The Points and Amount Spent can be set for each tier by referring to Adding A New Tier section in this guide
- On the Tier Term dropdown box, there are 3 different settings that you can choose from:
Customer Lifetime | Customer will be able to stay on the tier upon reaching the tier with no expiry or end date | Customer reaches the Gold tier, they will be on the Gold tier for life with the exception of reaching a higher tier. |
Calendar Year | Customer tiers will be recalculated at every start of the calendar year (1st January). Reaching a new tier will apply to the coming year. | Customer reaches the Gold tier on 30th March 2020, he/she will remain on the Gold tier in year 2021, and will have to reach the requirement of the Gold tier to remain in it before year 2022. |
Calendar Month | Customer tiers will be recalculated on every first day of the month. Reaching a new tier will apply to the coming month. | Customer reaches the Gold tier on 30th March 2020, he/she will remain on the Gold tier for the month of April, and will have to reach the requirement of the Gold tier to remain in it before May. |
Rolling Year | Customer tiers will be recalculated based on date when the tier is reached | Customer reaches the Gold tier on 30th March 2020, the tier will reset on 30th March 2021. He/she will have to reach the requirement of the Gold tier to remain in it before 30th March 2021. |
- Fill up the rest of the details as required.
- Remember to save your settings by pressing the Save button!
- Click on Back to Main
- Go to VIP
- Ensure the VIP Program is Enabled.
Introduction to VIP Section
You will be able to set the rewards and view the members in each tier at the VIP Tiers section.
Adding A New Tier
- Click on the Add new tier button on the bottom left of the VIP Tiers section.
- For your first tier, you will have a goal of "0" for members who signed up for the loyalty & rewards program in your store
- Fill up the Tier name
- Click on the Save button.
- After saving your settings, there will be 2 more columns that appears below
- On the Tier entry rewards section, you will be able to set up rewards to customers when they enter this VIP tier. These rewards are awarded once per customer.
a. Click on the Add Reward button.
There are 4 types of rewards available to select from.

b. Click on the Add reward button on the right of the desired reward for this tier
c. Fill up the reward details accordingly
d. Click on the Save button to save your settings
- On the Tier perks section, you can let customers know the perks they will be getting when entering this VIP tier.
a. Click on the Add Perks button
b. Fill up the details accordingly (e.g. earn 2x points for every $1 spent). Note: This is just a free text indication of the perks that a specific tier will receive. The relevant reward rule will still have to be set separately under the points program.

VIP Tag Syncing (Shopify Only)
When a customer enters a VIP tier in your program, the VIP tier will automatically be synced as a customer tag in the customer's profile in Shopify with the format of 'StampedVIPTier: ##tierName##'.

- Click on the respective tier on the VIP Tier section that you want to edit.
- Update the details.
- Remember to click on the Save button to update your settings!
To delete an existing tier
- Click on the respective tier on the VIP Tier section that you want to edit.
- Scroll down to the bottom and click on the Delete button on the left
- Click on the Delete button on the delete confirmation pop up
Viewing All Members In A Tier
- Click on the View All Members button on the respective tier
- You will be able to see all your members in the tier selected
Adjust/update the VIP tier via Customers interface
Store owners and staff can adjust the tier of affiliates/customers from the customer profile itself. For that,
- Go to Customers from the left navigation menu
- Search for the customer that you want to adjust the VIP Tier for and open the profile by clicking on the customer name

On the profile, look for the VIP Tier block and click Edit
- Click on Tiers dropdown under Tier Adjustments and select the tier that you want to adjust to
- Click Adjust to publish the changes
VoilĂ ! The VIP Tier for the customer has been updated and they can start enjoying the perks of the new tier.
