Review Requests: Email Frequency, Product Recommendations and Options

  • Updated

Stamped allows you to fully customize your review requests to best suit your business needs; this includes control over the frequency at which customers receive review request emails, allowing customers to submit reviews anonymously, showing product recommendations, submitting reviews anonymously and more.

Follow this guide to learn about the different customization options!

Key Notes

  • The Email Frequency feature is offered as a way to customize when review requests are sent, however, all orders in your store will count toward your monthly order limit regardless of whether a review request is sent. To learn more about your order limit, visit our Billing guide here. Learn more about exclusions here.
  • Review request emails are sent based on the customer's email address - i.e. if one customer places two separate orders and uses a different email address for each order, they will be eligible for two separate review request emails

Available frequency options

There are seven frequency settings available to choose from:

  • Send for new order: A review email will be sent for every new order for all email addresses
  • Send for only 1st order: A review email will be sent only to the 1st order for every email address
  • Skip 1st order, send for 2nd order onwards: A review email will be sent only for the 2nd and subsequent orders for the email address
  • Skip 1st and 2nd orders, send for 3rd order onwards: A review email will be sent only for the 3rd and subsequent orders for the email address
  • Skip the product when a review has been submitted before: A review email will not be sent for a product once a review for it has been submitted
  • Skip the customer when a review has been submitted before: A review email will not be sent to the customer once a review has been submitted by the email address
  • Send only once for each product: A review email will be sent once per product and stopped subsequently, regardless if a review is submitted or not.

Adjusting the email frequency

Enabling the "Do you recommend this product?" feature

This feature allows you to gather additional information from your customers on whether or not they would recommend the product they purchased. Showcase these recommendations from your reviewers so that customers will get an idea of the popularity of your product!

  1. Go to Settings > Customize > Reviews > Options
  2. Check the box beside the "Do you recommend this product?" option

Once enabled, you'll see this new question in both the review request email (above) and the main widget (below) for customers to answer. Collected responses will be shown in the main widget as an overall percentage of reviewers, as well as individual reviewers who recommend the product:

Enabling product recommendations

Increase sales and conversions by displaying 3 similar products based on a customer's previous purchase in their review request email. You can either choose a fixed selection of products to recommend or let our AI system choose the best matches.

  • In the Stamped dashboard, go to Settings > Customize > Reviews > Options
  • To enable product recommendations, toggle the button ON (green); to disable, toggle the button OFF (white)
  • Choose either the 'smart' or 'fixed' option
    • Select the products to recommend for 'fixed'
  • Click Save on the right side of the page

If you're a Shopify user, you can also use tags to recommend products from a specific collection. Take a look at our guide here

Enabling anonymous reviews

Some customers may not feel comfortable having their names displayed on reviews. Allow them to leave reviews anonymously so that you still benefit from gathering a review!

Note: The setting is disabled by default

  1. In your Stamped dashboard, go to Settings > Customize > Reviews > Options
  2. Click on the button to enable the Write review anonymously option
  3. Click the Save button on the right side of the page
