What is points sharing?

Point sharing enables merchants with multiple storefronts to create a unified rewards program. Customers can earn and spend points across all linked stores, with their points balance shared across these locations.

How do I set up points sharing?

Please reach out to our support team to enable and configure points sharing for your stores. When you reach out, please have the Store Hash of each store you'd like to link ready to share with our team. You can find your Store Hash in the API Keys section of your dashboard.

How are points shared?

All activities from linked stores will be aggregated into a shared ledger, creating a unified balance. As customers make purchases or redeem rewards, these activities will be recorded in the ledger, updating the shared balance accordingly.

How do I disable points sharing?

Please reach out to our support team to disable points sharing for your accounts. When you reach out, please have the Store Hash of each store you'd like to unlink ready to share with our team. You can find your Store Hash in the API Keys section of your dashboard.

How do earn and spend rules work?

Social, Custom, Orders, and UGC Earning and Spending Rules

  • Earning and spending rules remain specific to each store in point sharing. A spending rule in Store “A” cannot be used in Store “B”. Customers will earn points based on the rules of the store where they make a purchase, and these rules will not sync across stores. Order settings and customer exclusions will also be unique to each store.

Account Creation & Birthday Rewards

  • These are store-level earning rules. If each linked store has these rewards, a single customer will receive rewards for every store where they have an account.

How do referrals work?

Similar to earning and spending rules, each linked store has its own referral program. This means that a customer can refer the same friend to each linked store and receive a reward for each referral. Linking stores does not limit referrals. For example, if stores "A" and "B" are linked, Jessica can refer Sarah to both stores and receive a reward for each referral.

How does points expiry work?

Points will expire uniformly across all linked stores according to a single setting. This setting can be updated in any account, and the same values will be reflected in each linked account. Otherwise, points expiry functions the same way for these stores as it does for stores without point sharing.

Learn more about points expiry here.

How do VIP tiers work?

Each linked store will share a single VIP program. When linking stores, be aware that one store will be designated as the 'primary,' and its VIP program will overwrite the programs of the other linked stores. The program start date, downgrade settings, and Shopify sync settings will be shared across all linked stores.

As long as the stores remain linked, they will all have the same VIP settings visible in each store. Any changes made to the VIP program in one store will be instantly reflected in all other linked stores.

Qualifying for a tier

When stores are linked through Points Sharing, a customer's points balance reflects earnings and spending across all linked stores. This cumulative points balance determines the customer's VIP tier. (See a high-level example below.)
