Reviews Syndication Between Stores

  • Updated

The Reviews Syndication feature lets you share all reviews for the same product across multiple stores (i.e., different sites, domains, or regions).

Reviews are matched across stores using a shared product identifier: when the same product exists in two stores under the same identifier, its reviews can be shown in both.

Note: This feature syndicates reviews for display between your own stores (e.g. your US and EU sites). It's important to understand what it does not do:

  • It doesn't apply to Google Shopping. Syndicated reviews are shared for display across your storefronts only; they aren't added to another store's Google Shopping feed or product schema. Google attributes reviews by product identifier from each store's natively attached reviews, so store-to-store syndication doesn't carry over to Google.
  • It's separate from Bazaarvoice. Syndicating reviews to retail partners (such as Target or Nordstrom) is done through the Bazaarvoice integration, which is a completely different setup. This feature is only for sharing reviews between your own stores.

If your goal is Google Shopping visibility or retailer syndication, we handle those differently; contact us, and we'll point you to the right approach.

Introduction To Reviews Syndication

Reviews Syndication allows all the reviews for the same product with the same product identifier to be shared across multiple stores.

For example, if you have Product A in both your US and EU stores with the same product handle:

https://example-store.us/products/product-a
https://example-store.eu/products/product-a

You can display Product A reviews from the US store in the EU store, and vice versa.

One-way syndication is also possible with this feature (i.e. if you wish to display Product A's reviews from the US store on the EU store, but not the reviews from the EU store on the US store.)

The Reviews Syndication feature is useful for your new store that is selling the same products but has not collected any reviews yet, or for collating all the reviews for the same products to be shown across all of your stores which will encourage your potential customers to view the product from the other store to purchase the product.

For example, all of your customers may have purchased and left reviews of Product A on the US store previously or if you wish to start selling Product A on the EU store, you wish to display the reviews for Product A from the US store on the EU store to encourage potential customers from the EU store.

Product Identifiers

Below is a list of product identifiers commonly used across platforms for review syndication.

Do note that the product identifier needs to match for the same product in different stores for the reviews syndication to work (i.e. Product A's product handle must both be product-a in all of the stores)

1 Shopify platform: Product Handle or SKU

2 BigCommerce, Magento, WooCommerce and Custom platform: SKU

If your products are set up with a different type of matching identifier, please contact our support at support@stamped.io

Setting Up Reviews Syndication

As reviews syndication is set up on our end, please contact us at support@stamped.io, and we'll configure it across your stores. To help us set it up quickly, please include:

  • The stores you want to syndicate between (store URLs).
  • The direction of syndication — two-way (reviews shared both ways) or one-way (e.g. US reviews shown on EU, but not vice versa).
  • Confirmation that the products you want syndicated share the same product identifier across those stores (see Product Identifiers above).

Once we have these, we'll set up the syndication and confirm when it's live.

  • Clarify the product-identifier requirement with a concrete check. The identifier section is correct but could be more actionable. Add after the platform list:

Before requesting setup, confirm your products share the same identifier across stores. For example, if Product A is product-a on your US store, it must also be product-a on your EU store for their reviews to match. If the identifiers differ between stores, syndication won't match the products - contact us, and we'll advise on the best approach.
